Many individuals put up with foot pain that can be resolved. Shoes, inserts, stretches – and still the pain persists. But, now it is perhaps less than it was, so it can be tolerated. Then a few months later it gets worse and we repeat the cycle looking for that item that will solve the problem.
Lets step back and take a fresh look at the foot. The foot basically consists of 26 bones, 33 joints and more than 100 muscles. In addition to this you have the human gait, or how you walk and run, which directly effects the foot because the foot it is an integral part of our gait. This immediately pulls into the equation most of the muscles and joints from your lower spine on down and several muscles as high up as your neck and shoulders.
Because you have foot pain we know that something is either wrong with the bones, joints and muscles in the foot or something is wrong with the gait activity that is effecting the foot and causing the pain.
Before we get to spiny from looking at everything that could be wrong, lets recognize one fact. The human body is an amazing and slightly complex machine. It is in many ways far more complex than say our automobile. When something goes wrong with our steering we don’t get new tires first. We simply take the car to a mechanic to identify the issue and then propose a handling. Why not handle your body, which is more important to you then your car, the same way?
